A Vision for Illinois

Jason Plummer will get Illinois working again by changing the business climate, opposing new taxes, and opening our arms to business and investment.

He will work to put a stop to the monkey business in Springfield and end the sweetheart deals that ultimately cost taxpayers' jobs and money.

Experienced Leadership

  • Vice President for Corporate Development of R.P. Lumber and subsidiary companies, a family business responsible for creating and maintaining over 1,000 meaningful jobs in Illinois.
  • Currently serves as intelligence officer, U.S. Navy Reserves.
  • Served under U.S. Senator Peter Fitzgerald and in Washington, DC with the Heritage Foundation — the conservative public policy institute.
  • Committed Republican precinct committeeman and former Madison County Republican Chairman.
  • Dedicated youth sports coach at First Baptist Church of Maryville.
  • Proud graduate of the University of Illinois — earning a degree in Finance from the College of Business. He was also the Vice President of the Student Body.

Of Note ...

  • While at the University of Illinois, Jason led the student opposition to the public funding of speeches by former Weather Underground member Bill Ayers, earning him support and accolades from conservative leaders throughout America.
  • In addition to his position with R.P. Lumber, Jason is a successful entrepreneur, having started his first companies while still at the University of Illinois — including a wireless internet company that provides broadband access to several counties in downstate Illinois.  This enterprise provided high-speed internet to citizens in areas where minimal service, if any, was available.
  • Serving as Vice President for Corporate Development at R.P. Lumber Co., Jason has worked directly in economic development initiatives in dozens of communities throughout Illinois, concentrating in property development, property management, and venture capital/private equity investments. In one of his most recent projects, he has worked to develop a hotel, revitalize a retail shopping center, and bring a new R.P. Lumber location to Lincoln, IL, creating new jobs.
  • His economic development experience includes intensive work in the 43 communities in Illinois that R.P. Lumber proudly serves as well as numerous other areas around the state.
  • Jason serves on the board of the Illinois Lumber and Material Dealers Association as well as several civic and corporate boards.
