cronin_10120901Welcome to the DuPage County Republican Party

In DuPage we have a rich history and a proud tradition; moreover, we have a very bright future.  Everywhere I travel throughout the county, residents tout our excellent schools, safe streets and spacious forest preserves.  Our Republican Party made this happen in DuPage County.  Together we will continue to make DuPage County the very best place to live and raise a family in Illinois.  I invite you to become a participant in the Republican Party in order for us to continue our efforts on behalf of the residents.  Please investigate the many opportunities presented in this website for you to become an active Republican.  Thank you for the privilege of serving you.

Very truly yours,
Senator Dan Cronin
DuPage County Republican Party Chairman

GOP Unity Breakfast Showcases Strength of Illinois Republican Party

Can you feel it?

It started in New Jersey and Virginia. Then it spread to Massachusetts. Now, Illinois is next. Illinois is ready for the continuation of the Republican revolution felt in earlier elections.

Following Tuesday’s Republican Primary, hundreds of Republican faithful rallied at the Union League Club of Chicago to support the candidates who will headline the November slate and applaud the efforts of those who did not make the primary cut.

“You stepped into the arena and we all owe you thanks,” GOP Chairman Pat Brady told all the Republican candidates in attendance.  “We are a stronger party because of people like Patrick Hughes, Kathleen Thomas,, John Arrington,… Adam Andrejewski, Dan Proft and so many others.”

Brady said Illinois has been brought to the brink of disaster by the Democratic leadership of former Gov. Rod Blagojevich and those who supported him, including Alexi Giannoulias, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate. Under Democratic leadership Illinois is plunging off a fiscal cliff of nightmarish proportion, Brady said. He added it’s time for real “change we can believe in” in Illinois.

“Rod goes on trial next summer right across the street," Brady said. “This is our chance to make a clean break from Chicago style politics that have destroyed Illinois."

Keynote speaker Haley Barbour, governor of Mississippi and former chairman of the Republican National Committee, said the actions of the Democrats over the last eight years in Illinois is enough ammunition to unite the Republican Party and turn the blue state of Illinois to red Republican state. But he said it will not be easy.

“It will not be easy. People who yesterday were working hard against each other in the primary will have to work together to make sure this is the Republican’s year,” Barbour said.

Although the Republican Party does not yet have a gubernatorial candidate, (at the time of this writing the race is still too close to call between Brady and Sen. Kirk Dillard), Barbour said the Republican Governor’s Association will do all it can to help in the fall.

Gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady praised the Republican ticket and the candidates who came up short on Tuesday.

“Every candidate I met on the road is head and shoulders above any Democratic candidate,” Brady said.

He said one thing that will carry the GOP slate in the fall is the principles the party is founded upon – small government, fiscal responsibility and competent management of government.

Dillard said it’s time the Republicans unite and work toward the goal of victory,

“It’s time to make Illinois work again,” Dillard said.

Dillard praised the slate as well, particularly singling out Jason Plummer, candidate for Lieutenant Governor.

Both Dillard and Brady praised each other as hard workers and capable leaders/ Each man said if the other comes out on top when all the votes are counted, then he will work hard to elect the other to governor.

U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk, the GOP nominee for U.S. Senate, took the fight straight at Giannoulias. Kirk said Illinois cannot afford to have Giannoulias as a Senator. Kirk criticized Broadway Bank, the facility run by the Giannoulias family. Kirk said the family was going to pull $70 million out of the bank, which would trigger the need for a bailout.
